Michell Engineering

	John Michell founded this fine engineering company in the early 1966`s and with his premises close proximity to the local film studios supplied specialized pieces for many famous films including 2001 A Space Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange.. Then the company turned to making turntables and the original Hydraulic Reference, Prisma and Focus One have now become collectors items. Then in 1981 John updated these designs and the Gyrodec arrived on the scene. With its large acrylic construction and the rotating gold finish weights attached underneath the platter this visually stunning machine really set the vinyl world alight. The bigger and heavier Orbe took over as the top model, this was followed by their own Tecno arms and improved power supplies to give a highly competitive range of vinyl products. Sadly John is no longer with us but he has left a lasting legacy with the present range still being highly sort after under the new family run management.
