SME SERIES M2-9-10-12
The Series M2 was designed to replace the "J" shaped Series II range and by adding 10" and 12" versions has made it more suitable for a wider range of turntables. Unlike the older Series II this new range has a stainless steel tone-arm with a detachable magnesium headshell to give an acceptable effective mass. The most striking features are the straight tube and high quality, close tolerance ball race bearings, both vertically and horizontally and a very useful thumbwheel height adjustment feature.

Despite being the entry level tone-arm the familiar SME precision engineering is obvious to see and like all of the company`s products is designed to last a life time and be totally trouble free if handled with the respect it deserves.
The straight, thin walled stainless steel tone arm has internal damping and features its own pressure die-cast magnesium headshell.
Effective mass is quoted at 9.5g, 9.6g and 12g respectively.
A new tungsten counterweight assembly is employed to give easy and accurate adjustment and will balance cartridges from 5 to 12g.
The FD-M2 damper kit can be useful with low compliance cartridges but is only available factory fitted on new tone-arms.
